We hope you love J-D’s new Red Ram mascot as much as we do! That’s why we’re reaching out to the school community to help us name it.
We’ll be collecting name submissions until Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. You can find the online submission form by clicking here. It will also be posted on the district’s homepage.
Here are a few criteria to keep in mind when considering names:

- Appropriate for a school district
- Demonstrates J-D strength and pride
- Welcoming/approachable
- Non-trademarked
We’ll share the finalists via ParentSquare and Facebook. After reviewing your feedback, a panel of judges will select a winner who will receive some J-D gear and a special school visit from the mascot itself.
The costume was unveiled during a high school pep rally back in the spring. It was purchased alongside a 7-by-9-foot “battle flag” with funds from the student government’s student activities account.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with, go Red Rams!
