It was held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Syracuse on Saturday, January 27.

Dressed in their red hero shirts, Pramiti Adhikari, Mari Balayan, Emma Button and Siobhan Yung proudly represented JES.

Their project, “Safe Step – A Wearable Proximity Sensor for the Visually Impaired,” is a wearable device that assists visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings safely. The objective was to create a tool that alerts the user to nearby obstacles, thus reducing the risk of collisions and enhancing their independence in daily activities.

The team will present the project at their upcoming Science Fair on Thursday, February 1.

Congratulations!
