To obtain working papers, parents/guardians and minors must complete the appropriate New York state application form and scan and email it to Rachel Reichel in the Attendance Office at rreichel@jd.cnyric.org.
There are two types of applications.

  • Student General Employment Certificate: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 16 or 17 years of age enrolled in day school when attendance is not required.
  • Full-Time Employment Certificate: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 16 or 17 years of age who is not attending day school.

Application For Employment Permit (AT-22), which includes:

  • Newspaper Carrier Permit: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 11-18 years of age.
  • Farm Work Permit: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 14-15 years of age.
  • Farm Work Permit, Special: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 12-13 years of age.
  • Street Trades Permit: Valid for lawful employment of a minor 14-18 years of age.

In addition to the appropriate application form, New York state law requires an updated physical exam form from your doctor in order to obtain working papers. Please email the physical exam form to Rachel Reichel and include proof of date of birth. Applicants must be a Jamesville-DeWitt resident to apply for working papers at the school district.

Once the working card is completed, the applicant must sign and pick up the card in person.
