District to host public hearing on 2026-27 Code of Conduct on June 15

The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2026-27 Code of Conduct on Monday, June 15. The document defines the expectations for acceptable conduct, identifies the possible consequences of unacceptable behavior, and ensures that discipline is administered fairly and in a timely manner. It is reviewed annually and updated if necessary.

The public hearing will be held during the Board of Education’s  meeting at 7 p.m. It’s open to the public, and anyone may raise questions or concerns about the Code of Conduct by completing a comment request form. You can also watch via YouTube. The link is available on the board webpage

Comments about the proposed Code of Conduct may also be sent to Nate Franz, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Equity, at nfranz@jd.cnyric.org through Friday, June 26.

A draft of the 2026-27 Code of Conduct, including the proposed changes, can be found here.  All edits are tracked in green text.

The 2025-26 Code of Conduct is available on the district website. It applies to all students, school personnel, guardians, and other visitors who are on school property or attending a school-sponsored function.

The board is slated to vote on the 2026-27 Code of Conduct at its meeting on Monday, July 13.
