On May 20, Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District voters approved the district’s proposed $75.3 million spending plan for the 2025-26 school year. It carries a 1.96% tax levy increase and increased spending of 5.56% compared to the current school year.
Voters approved the budget 697 to 274.
“We appreciate everyone who took the time to make it to the polls,” said Superintendent Peter Smith. “We worked to develop a budget proposal that maintained all student programming and supports while remaining sensitive to the impact on taxpayers. Thank you for supporting the district as we prepare to follow our new 2-year strategic plan.”
In addition to the budget proposal, the ballot included two other propositions and the board of education election.
Bus Purchase Proposition
Purchasing five new school buses at a total cost not to exceed $782,319: 714 yes; 252 no
Library Funding Proposition
Funding the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville for $1,653,321: 722 yes; 250 no
Board of Education Election Results
Voters elected the following three candidates to the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025.
