In a typical year, the mission of Operation Graduation is to host an After Ball celebration for the graduating Seniors of Jamesville Dewitt High School. As we all know, this school year is anything but typical. Due to the shifting requirements due to COVID protocols, it was decided that hosting our event at Strike n’ Spare was pointless if the kids can’t have a Senior Ball. Fortunately, the Administration was very open to allowing a Ball if we could figure out a way to do so safely for our Seniors. As budgets only go so far, it was decided that the Operation Graduation Committee would be better off throwing our time, talents and money to helping our kids have an amazing Senior Ball. This page will try to provide Seniors and their parents with updates on the Senior Ball, keeping in mind that we are constantly checking the requirements set down by NYS and that our plans may change in response to those requirements. Please keep checking this page for updates.
DATE & TIME:
Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 7pm – Midnight
JD High School. We’ve rented a huge party tent and everything we need to throw a great party right on school grounds!
WHO MAY ATTEND:
This event is only
open to JD Seniors. Guests/Dates outside of the Senior class will not be permitted this year.
Semi Formal/Formal. We want this to be an affordable event for all of our Seniors so wear what you already own, what you bought for Jr. Prom and didn’t get to wear, borrow from a friend, or have fun shopping for something new. Seniors should dress in what makes them feel their best!
Tickets & pre-registration will be required. Ticket sales have ended but it’s not too late. Please your Senior can reach out to Mike Keenan ASAP if they have decided that they’d like to attend. Cost is $20/Senior
At this time, masks will be required for all attendees, regardless of vaccination status. COVID testing will not be required. Direction from NYS and Onondaga County is constantly changing so keep checking here with regard to any changes and updates.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Dinner, dancing, photos, activities, casino games and TONS of great prizes. Most of all, an opportunity for all of our Seniors to get to spend an evening together for the first time all year!
HOW CAN PARENTS HELP:
To those of you who have already made monetary donations, thank you so much! We will still gratefully accept donations, either by check, Venmo or Paypal. Please see below for donation information.
We are looking for beverage/dessert/wrapped candy donations for the evening. Please sign up here:
We would appreciate your donations of candy for goodie bags, drinks and gift cards for game prizes. The link to sign up for these items is below. We are asking for the items to be delivered to the home of Michele Kretsch (6023 Singletree Lane, Jamesville) by June 11. Items can be left in or by the tote on the front porch marked “Ball Donations.” You can reach Michele at 315-391-1254 if needed. Thank you!
BAKE (OR BUY) LATER:
Please help us provide an assortment of desserts for the senior ball. Items must be individually wrapped. Some ideas of desserts are provided on the sign-up link below, but you can also select “other” and write in what you plan to contribute. We ask that you drop off your dessert donation at Michele’s (see above) on Wednesday, June 16, OR on Thursday, June 17, at the tent in the senior parking lot between 9am and 2pm.
Since there will be no official After Ball party this year, you can also help by encouraging your Senior to be safe & responsible after they leave the Ball. We want all of our Seniors to get home safely, with nothing but great memories of time spent with classmates and friends.
If you have any questions or donation items, please send us an email at email@example.com
