Jan. 6, 2021: J-D High School Concert Chorale shares virtual performance

The Jamesville-DeWitt High School Concert Chorale recently virtually performed “Don’t Cry” by Seal, and in addition to learning and performing Seal’s song, the students studied the singer-songwriter’s life and wrote about how they thought his life experiences influenced him as a performer. 

The video and excerpts from some of the students’ essays are included in a recent digital edition of Rampage, J-D High School’s student-run newspaper. The students each learned the piece, either in-person or during a Zoom rehearsal, and then recorded their tracks individually at home. J-D High School Class of 2004 alumni Dylan Spencer worked with J-D Vocal Music Director Elizabeth Quackenbush to mix the individual videos together to create the Concert Chorale’s final piece, which can be viewed below.
