Dec. 22, 2020: Varsity teams earn scholar-athlete recognition
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) recently recognized several Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District athletic teams as part of its fall Scholar-Athlete program.
At the end of each sports season, NYSPHSAA recognizes student-athletes and teams that have achieved academic success. To receive a NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete team award, 75 percent of the students on a team’s roster must earn a grade point average of 90 or above.
NYSPHSAA recently announced that the following J-D 2020 fall varsity athletic teams earned Scholar-Athlete designation:
- Boys soccer
- Girls soccer
- Boys cross country
- Girls cross country
- Girls tennis
- Gymnastics
