The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District and Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 8 to review updates made to the 2025-26 District Safety Plan. The changes are related to automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment and school safety training as part of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. They follow Desha’s Law which was signed by Governor Hochul on July 25, 2025.
A 30-day public comment period will follow the hearing. The plan will go back to the board for approval in January. The board must approve the plan and submit it to the State Education Department by Jan. 20, 2026.
