Poetry Out Loud winners announced

Congratulations to Senior Anadia St. John for earning first place in this year’s Poetry Out Loud recitation competition. Sophomore Brielle Rivera received second place.

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.

Anadia and Brielle will represent Jamesville-DeWitt High School in the regional competition at Onondaga Community College on Friday, February 16 at 5:30 p.m. The top two regional winners will advance to the state competition in March.
