At their regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 8, the Board of Education reviewed updates made to the 2025-26 District Safety Plan. The changes are related to automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment and school safety training as part of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. They follow Desha’s Law which was signed by Governor Hochul on July 25, 2025.
This update opens a 30-day public comment period before going back to the board for approval in January. Those wishing to make comments can fill out this online form.
The board must approve the plan and submit it to the State Education Department by Jan. 20, 2026.
