Before Jamesville Elementary School Principal Marcy Baker became a dedicated educator, she was a force on the soccer field. Baker was among 14 honorees recently inducted into the New York State Girls Soccer Hall of Fame (HOF), which was established in 2017. It recognizes players, coaches, referees, administrators and journalists who have made significant contributions to high school girls soccer.
Baker graduated from F-M High School in 1991 as a two-time All-American soccer player. She also played collegiately at Villanova University.
The induction was held in conjunction with a New York State Girls Soccer Hall of Fame Tournament at Niskayuna High School in early September. Teams from all over the state including the J-D Girls’ Varsity team participated. The Red Rams competed against Harrison High School and Pleasantville High School

“Being inducted into the Hall of Fame was an incredible honor, but what truly touched my heart was seeing the J-D girls soccer team there to share it with me. Having some of my former students in the crowd made it feel extra special. It is a privilege to work in a district where incredible athletics and a close-knit community come together to support and inspire others,” shared Baker.
