Jamesville-DeWitt High School is proud to share that seven seniors have been recognized for their academic achievement in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Two students have been named Semifinalists, and five students have been named Commended Students.
National Merit Semifinalists
Out of more than 50,000 high scorers nationwide, over 16,000 students have qualified as Semifinalists, representing the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
Congratulations to J-DHS Semifinalists:

As Semifinalists, Arian and Ben will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 Merit Scholarship awards to be offered in 2027. Finalists for the program will be notified in early February.
Commended Students
The remaining 34,000 high scorers nationwide are designated as Commended Students. These students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Although Commended Students will not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, this recognition highlights their exceptional academic performance and promise.
