The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District is excited to announce it was awarded a “2023 Best Communities for Music Education” designation from The National Association of Music Merchants Foundation

J-D is among 830 school districts and 78 schools being recognized across the country. The award celebrates teachers, administrators, students and parents who continually work to keep music education an integral part of the core curriculum.

To qualify, J-D answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Thank you to students, staff, families, and community members for supporting music education at J-D. This designation is a testament to your dedication!
