Board approves two policies ahead of 2025-26 school year

The Jamesville-DeWitt Board of Education conducted a second reading of two policies and approved both during its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 25.

District officials crafted both policies in accordance with state law. They also collected vital community feedback regarding distraction-free schools during the 2024-25 school year from stakeholder groups, including staff, students and families. The ban takes effect this September and Jamesville-DeWitt is prepared to carry out a consistent policy across all five of its school buildings.

The district shared 7316 policy implementation information with staff, students, and families in July. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) webpage is also accessible on the district website to help ease the transition and will be updated as additional information becomes available.
