J-DMS teams up with Helping Hounds for Pet Portrait Fundraiser

We’re excited to share that Jamesville-DeWitt Middle School art classes are teaming up with Helping Hounds Dog Rescue for a special community fundraiser! The goal is to help cover the care costs for dogs waiting to be adopted.

As part of this effort, community members can purchase a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win a custom pet portrait created by our talented 8th-grade artists. All proceeds will go directly to Helping Hounds.

Students will create unique portraits in a variety of styles and mediums, using submitted photos of pets as inspiration. This is a great way for our young artists to put their creativity to work for a meaningful cause, helping pups who often wait months to find their forever homes.

You can enter by submitting a photo of your pet and buying a raffle ticket. 17 winners will be randomly selected on Tuesday, May 27. The winners will have their art shown in an invitation only art show at the rescue in June.
