The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District wants your input as administrators and the Board of Education reviews Governor Hochul’s recommendations to promote distraction-free learning environments and improve student focus by limiting smartphone use in schools.
In anticipation of the state requirement being enacted prior to the 2025-26 school year, the district would like to be prepared with any policy changes that may be necessary.
The district is using a ThoughtExchange survey to gather stakeholder input which will help guide decisions and ensure that any changes are beneficial for all involved. We want to hear from you: what are your thoughts on how this might impact students, teachers, and families?
The survey will be available through Thursday, May 22. You’re encouraged to return to the survey often to rate new ideas.
Quick Tips
-
- This Exchange is confidential. Your thoughts will be shared with other participants, but not your identity.
- You can share as much as you’d like, but please add separate thoughts so it’s easier for others to rate.
- Please remain polite and respectful – thoughts that are rude, hurtful, or identifying will be removed from the Exchange.
- You will see and rate thoughts that others have shared: 5 stars = strongly agree, 3 = neutral, 1 star = strongly disagree.
- You do not need to rate all thoughts, though it’s recommended to rate at least 20.
Thank you for your time and participation!
