The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, April 28 to appoint the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the District Office Board Room and will be available to the public and online via Zoom. The board previously announced their selection of Dr. Darcy Woodcock on Thursday, April 10.
“We needed more time than anticipated to finalize contract negotiations,” shared Board President Joe Gross. “The board is confident we chose the best candidate for the position. We’re looking forward to welcoming Dr. Woodcock to Jamesville-DeWitt.”
Dr. Woodcock is a Central New York native with more than two decades of education experience. She is currently the Superintendent of Tully Central Schools.
Superintendent Dr. Peter Smith announced his retirement plans in October and will serve the district through the remainder of the 2024-25 school year. Dr. Woodcock would begin her position with Jamesville-DeWitt on or about July 1.
