A message from the Principal:
"Education is the method by which a society gets from one generation to the next." - J.F. Herbart
Welcome to Jamesville – Dewitt High School. Our faculty and staff are committed to bridging the generations and the future by engaging young minds and hearts.
Our course offerings provide students the opportunity to learn at a high level in the arts, sciences, and letters. We are excited about the growth in the number of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, technology courses, and electives in social studies and science. We are committed to providing high-level support services in Academic Intervention (AIS) and special education.
We are also committed to providing our students with a well-rounded academic and social experience. To this end, we have over 30 clubs and activities that provide students an opportunity to explore their interests. We have an award-winning drama and music program. Our music program’s select bands and select chorus have performed throughout Central New York. Our drama program has staged such classics as Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, and West Side Story. We believe that school spirit is built through student engagement. Our extra-curricular programs do just that!
Our athletic programs have enjoyed unparalleled success. Our teams have won the Onondaga High School League (OHSL) All-Sports trophy for best overall, combined team records for the past seven years! We’ve had New York State (NYS) champions in swimming and three of our teams made the NYS final four in their respective sports. Most impressive, 23 of our 26 teams won Scholar Athlete Team awards. Athletics support our academic programming at J-DHS.
The JDHS faculty and administration are extremely proud of our school, community, and our students. We welcome you to our home! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 315-445-8340.
Paul G. Gasparini, Principal.
