Purpose

The term "Operation Graduation" comes from a more nationally known event "Project Graduation", which is often a parent-coordinated event hosted around the graduation date to provide graduating seniors a safe environment to celebrate their graduation.

"Operation Graduation" is similar but hosted after the Ball, when (statistically) seniors are more likely to engage in risky behavior that results in accidents / fatalities.

The OpGrad event is…
      TBD

Fund-raising

The event location, entertainment/activity vendors, food/bev, and prizes are all paid for with donations.

Ways to help…
  • Tax-deductible cash donation (on behalf of a family or business)
Helpful to have by 5/18 (2 wks before event).
    Online:  https://mkt.com/store/jdog
By check:  payable to “JDHS Operation Graduation” (mail/bring to HS in envelope, attn “Operation Graduation”, incl your name+addr so we can thank you!).
  • Product donation (décor/game supplies, food/bev, prizes)
    Items needed by 5/31
    See SignupGenius:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050f4caeaf22ab9-jdoperation

  • Dime Drive
    Submit by Monday 5/6
Did you know an average sized water bottle (16-20oz), filled with dimes, is equal to about $100?
We encourage ALL students to participate in the Dime Drive challenge!
Fill an empty water bottle with dimes/spare change, cap it off, and return it to the Main Office (with your name/grade on it!)
For each bottle, Seniors earn (1) bonus raffle ticket (to increase chance to win a prize at the event).
Grade 9-11 students earn a chance to win a JD shirt.
  • Bottle Drive
Thank you for all the tremendous support - this is a BIG source of revenue for OpGrad!!
    Coordinator, Kieran O’Connor (oconnorKieranR@gmail.com)
  • Chipotle fund-raisers
    Monday 5/6 (4-8p) @ Erie Blvd location
We earn 1/3 of the proceeds from this fund-raising event!  (thank you, Chipotle!)
