Summer Learning Opportunities


The Tecumseh Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) is a group of parents & caregivers interested in creating a strong community environment for students, parents, and staff. We are a fun, lively group that offers a way to meet other people, share talents, and help our children!
With donations & fund-raising dollars we:
  • Purchase playground supplies such as jump ropes, balls, chalk, etc.
    In 2014, the PTG solely purchased & installed the playground structures.
  • Purchase extra instruments for the band and orchestra programs.
  • Support classroom field trips & other activities.
We help coordinate these activities / events:
  • Welcome back social
  • Parent social
  • Find-a-Friend school directory
  • Yearbook
  • Roller skating & Movie nights
  • After-school Enrichment program
  • Wintertime family activity
  • Baskets & Bingo
  • Staff appreciation lunch
  • Assist with Kindergarten Orientation & Bus Round-up
  • Fourth grade moving up night
  • Fun Day


Financial support for our PTG-sponsored activities comes from the generous contributions of our Tecumseh families.

  • Clip your Box Tops & Campbell's Labels for Education to help earn money for the PTG!
  • When you have (50) labels, put in baggie marked "PTG" & send to school with your child. 
  • NOTE:  only submit unexpired BoxTops & Labels

New Tecumseh and JD designs + many new items available for purchase as part of our logo apparel sale this year.
Selections include:  dry-fit items, soft T-shirts, hats, fleece, shorts, pants and more!
Items can be ordered ONLINE now through November 7
All items will be delivered to Tecumseh by early December (in time for the holidays!).
We will send items home with your child unless you select the gift option on the site when placing your order.
We will send an email to let you know when the items will be sent home and/or available for you to pick up (if your purchase is a gift).
Ordering on the site is easy and you can use a credit card, debit card, Amazon Payments, ApplePay & PayPal!
Though we encourage orders to be placed online, if you need to pay via CASH or check, please contact Alison to coordinate your purchase.
Those who do not have access to the Internet to view items & make purchases, should also contact Alison.

Dance Program at Tecumseh

The Ballet & Dance Center provides dance instruction for Tecumseh students.
Studio’s website:  www.TheBalletAndDanceCenter.com
Classes are on most Fridays after school starting Sept 30th and ending with a recital on Saturday April 8th at the JD High School.
Types of classes include:  ballet, tap, jazz & hip-hop.
Boys and girls of all grade levels may participate.
All participants are expected to follow a Code of Conduct.
Parent volunteers are vital to this program!
They are needed to supervise children as they wait for their dance lesson.
Every family with a registered dancer is asked to help.
Volunteers can be parents, grandparents, or any trusted adult.
