Everyone who wants to participate should return their forms right away!

An information night for parents & students is Monday, September 11th at 7pm at Jamesville Elementary School. All questions about lessons, rehearsals and instruments will be answered that night.

Tecumseh Dance Program
Kelly Wichmann, 315-350-0723,

Laura Fisher, Erin Malay and I are excited to be coordinating the Dance Program again this year. We are pleased to announce that The Ballet & Dance Center will once again be providing the dance instruction. We look forward to another great year of partnership with Kathy Falcone and her team!
Check out the studio’s website at:
Classes are held once a week after school starting in September and ends with a recital in April at the JD High School. Boys and girls in all grade levels have enjoyed our program.
General registration will begin on Friday, September 8th. Registration packets will be sent home in your child’s red folder on Friday. To access the registration packet online, click on this link: Tecumseh Dance
Parent volunteers are vital to this program! We are looking for volunteers to help on Fridays after school (approximately once every 4-5 weeks). Additional information regarding volunteer sign up will be included with the registration information.
Any questions, please contact Kelly. We look forward to seeing your dancers this fall!

“Find-A-Friend” Tecumseh Directory
Has this happened to you? Your child comes home & declares (s)he wants to get together with a new friend. Or maybe your child wants to call a classmate about homework. Better yet, maybe YOU are trying to reach a parent you met at a school function. What to do? That's right... use the Find-a-Friend school directory!
The directory is only as useful as we make it. With your participation, we hope to compile a complete contact list of our Tecumseh families! We include only the information you are comfortable providing. You may choose to include: your child's name, address, phone number, parent name(s), parent email contact, and teacher name. This information makes it easier for you to see who is in your child's class & allows other Tecumseh families to reach you.

If you would like more than one e-mail address to be used for contacting your family, please fill out and submit the form twice, using a different e-mail each time.
Being able to contact one another helps build a stronger Tecumseh community!
To sign-up for the directory, click on this link: Communication Sign-Up. Deadline is 9/22/17.

Just for Parents:
Guest Speaker – Internet Safety for Children
Important information that every parent needs to here…
Don’t miss out on a presentation on Internet Safety by Maureen Foran-Mocete from McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center. Maureen is the Outreach and Education Coordinator at McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center and will be presenting at the PTG meeting on November 1, 2017. This information is important for all parents to hear in order to understand the current cyber world and how to protect your child from potential dangers.
Parent Social
Fun, Food and Happy Spirits!
Please join the PTG on October 5, 7pm, at Pascale’s at Drumlins for our Annual Parent Social.  This is the perfect way to meet new friends and catch up with old.  Light snacks will be provided.  Hope to see you there!!

Room Parents Needed!
Tina Skinner,
Being a Room Parent is a great opportunity to be involved in your child’s school experience as well as to provide assistance to your child’s teacher.
A Room Parent serves as a liaison between the teacher & class parents. (S)he communicates to the class parents about upcoming class parties, help for events, and any other matters relevant to the class. The Room Parent will coordinate a few small class parties during the school year.
If you’d like to be a Room Parent for your child’s class, please email me with your child’s name and his/her teacher’s name.
There will be an informational "Coffee Social" in September to learn more about this.

Lunchroom Helpers
Heather Henderson, 216-496-0480,
Lunchroom Helpers needed!
Looking for volunteers who can commit to helping out in the cafeteria once a week for 1/2 an hour, during their child's lunch period.
Duties include assisting students at the condiment table, opening milk cartons and other containers, and, at the end of the period, wiping down tables so that they are ready for the next grade.
And when the cold weather arrives, younger students can always use a hand zipping up coats and pulling on mittens for recess.
For more info or to volunteer, please contact me.

Seeking Yearbook Photos!
Believe it or not, work on the 2018 yearbook starts now. To include as many Tecumseh friends as possible in the yearbook, we need your help!
The goal of the yearbook is to share the entire Tecumseh community (students and staff) and the activities they participate in during school hours as well as activities after school (such as PTG Enrichment opportunities, the Dance Program, JDYAA and Little League sports, etc.).
Please take pictures of all the Tecumseh and related events you attend. Though we welcome and appreciate all photos (individuals, small groups and whole classes), the more students and staff in the photos, the better! Group photos allow us to include more Tecumseh friends in the yearbook.
You can share your photos with us in one of two ways:
1.       Email them to:
2.       Use the free “ReplayIt” app on your smartphone. Here’s how:
Download the app. Allow it to use your location, then select Tecumseh Elementary School. Create an account. Choose a photo(s) and select “upload.”
If you have any questions, please contact Alison Kessler, 2017-2018 Yearbook Coordinator, at Thank you!

Box Tops
Lena Blomkvist
You've seen these labels on food & paper products, but did you know that the PTG gets cash for them?
Clip these labels & put them in a baggie. When you have (50) of one kind, label the baggie “PTG box tops” & put in your child's red folder. We'll take care of the rest.
IMPORTANT: please note the expiration date. We cannot submit expired tops/labels. Also, the Campbell's Labels program has been discontinued. Thank you for your past help with that. There is no need to send Campbell's Labels in this year.
Thanks for your support!
